Invisalign treatment allows us to straighten your teeth without the feeling of clunky metal like braces. Invisalign treatment uses advanced 3D computer imaging technology to determine your entire treatment plan—from where your teeth started, to their final desired position.
Then, a series of clear, custom-made aligners are used to shift your teeth into place. Each aligner, or tray as they’re also known, is worn for about two weeks before being replaced. This cycle is repeated until the final position of your teeth is achieved.
Invisalign treatment offers benefits beyond straight teeth. Some of these benefits include:
The Invisalign difference is offered to more people than ever before because of its speed and effectiveness of straightening teeth compared to braces. Teenagers, who have grown all of their teeth, including their second molars, are also eligible.
We recommend Invisalign to teenagers with fully developed mouths because displacing their teeth before they’re fully grown can cause them to shift again after treatment.
During your free consultation, Dr. Platt will discuss the best course of treatment for your unique smile and approximately how long it will take. Generally, the procedure takes anywhere from 6-15 months depending on how much tooth movement is needed for optimal alignment.
Compared to traditional brace’s 18-36 month treatment plan, Invisalign aligners are the clear answer for tooth repositioning.
Your Invisalign aligners are designed to be worn for up to 22 hours a day. The only time it is recommended to remove them is for eating, drinking, and regular oral hygiene maintenance like brushing and flossing.
Unlike traditional braces, there are zero restrictions as far as what you can eat. Simply remember to brush after each meal or snack before placing your aligners back on.
Your aligners might cause a slight impairment to your speech, but the more you wear them, the sooner you’ll adjust to speaking with them on.
As your teeth begin to shift, you may experience some pressure and minor discomfort for a day or two after each new tray is introduced. This is a sign that your teeth are moving to their desired final position.
With Invisalign treatment, we recommend regular office visits to Lasting Impressions Dental every five to six weeks. This will ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. If the aligners are not affecting your smile the way you intended, Dr. Platt can make alterations to your treatment plan that will get you back on track.
