The Invisalign® Process
The Invisalign Advantage
A straighter smile doesn’t have to come with two years of metal braces attached to your teeth. Invisalign’s nearly invisible aligners provide a simple alternative that requires fewer changes to your lifestyle than traditional braces.
Steps to Your New Smile
1. Your Free Consultation
Dr. Platt offers free consultations, so there’s no disadvantage to you coming in to see if Invisalign is right for you. He’ll take painless digital scans of your teeth and show you a 3D picture of what your smile could look like after Invisalign treatment.
He’ll outline a treatment plan that addresses alignment issues in your smile. But you don’t have to pay a dime or move forward with treatment if you don’t want to.
2. Receiving Your First Aligners
If you decide to commit to Invisalign treatment with Dr. Platt, he’ll send your 3D scans to Invisalign so their technicians can create your custom aligners. Your first aligners will take about four weeks to create, but then you can begin treatment.
When your first aligners arrive at our office, you can come in to pick them up and make sure they fit. Dr. Platt will give you more specific instructions on wearing your aligners at that time.
3. Wearing Invisalign
For the duration of your treatment plan, you’ll wear your clear aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day. We recommend taking out your aligners only to eat and for cleaning. Every two weeks, you’ll switch aligners as your teeth gradually move.
At first, you may have some difficulty adjusting to life with Invisalign. But not to worry, this phase will quickly pass as you wear your aligners more.
